Orange Marmalade ep 5 recap

In Joseon era, vampires were already living with the humans. Some nice and some not so nice. There were already stories of their existence.

Some clans kill humans and drink their blood. Other clans feed on animals and live in harmony with humans.

One clan is terriorizing and stealing gold from the palace. That clan is called Wonsangu clan of Hwasawon.
Officers found 20 corpses without blood in them and bite marks. This is without a doubt done by Wonsangu clan.
One scholar diligently studying while the other one is slacking off.

In Joseon time, Shi Hoo and Jae Min are friends. They are both from a noble family where Shi Hoo's family is from a line of high ranking officers and Jae Min's family is a warrior line.

However, Shi Hoo states that they were born into the wrong family because Shi Hoo should have been born into a warrior family.
Jae Min can't be a warrior because of his fear for blood and will faint whenever he sees it.
Shi Hoo goes off into the night to play while Jae Min stays at Sungkyunkwan dormitory like a model student that he is.
A group of people gather, scratch that, it's a group of vampires to be exact. They are the good vampires that live in Banchon.

They discuss the situation about Wonsangu clan. Since the Wonsangu clan has been causing trouble and revealing themselves, the good vampires must take extra precaution to protect themselves from being expose.

The Wonsangu clan.
Wonsangu clan is lead by this women.
Oh no! Jae Hee is in Wonsangu clan. Noooooo, I believe you are good and just being a spy, please let me be true.
These two ministers discuss the problem about vampires being real and should figure out what to do.
Vampires have made a potion to survive in the sunlight and if not taken then after three days you won't be able to walk in the sunlight.
The teacher ask Jae Min where Shi Hoo is and Jae Min doesn't know.

Jae Min goes out into the woods to look for him because Shi Hoo told him of a secret place.

While searching for Shi Hoo, Jae Min sees a beautiful girl and looks at her with googly eyes.

The girl playing the flute is Mari. He stares at her for a moment but suddenly turns and leave.

While Jae Min was walking he got bit by a poisonous snake. He stabs his feet with a knife to get the poison out but can't do it because his vision got blurry.

Mari comes and helps him. She smells his blood and couldn't control herself, until Shi Hoo yells.
Mari runs off and washes her mouth to get rid of the blood.
The teacher yells at Shi Hoo.
While Jae Min is resting, Shi Hoo comes in and tells him not to eat the meat tomorrow.
I guess Shi Hoo did something to the meat because there is a long line up for the washroom.

This group including Jae Min comes out to find out what happen with the meat.
They come to the butcher shop that supplies the school with meat. They capture Mari's father.
Jae Min finally sees Mari again but he finds out she is a low pleasant.
Mari and her mother look in agony as  her father is tied up.

He punishment is to be tied up for 10 days without any water.
Remember, he can survive four days without blood and three days without the potion for sunlight. So that means they have to rescue him in three days.

Mari couldn't bear it and sneaked in to give her father the potion, however, she was caught by the guard. Luckily Jae Min comes and told them to release her father. Jae Min admits that he rigged the meat at the school.
Jae Min tries to take the blame but Shi Hoo tells the teacher that he did it.
Jae Min got suspended and Shi Hoo got expelled. Shi Hoo wanted to get expelled, he didn't want to be a puppet for his family.
Ara is from a noble household. Ara's father and Jae Min's father discuss marriage of their two kids.

Even in Joseon time, Ara and Jae Min are linked together.
Again, Mari is sitting there but this time she isn't playing her flute.
Jae Min sees her and uses this opportunity to talk to her.
He blames her for his pants getting dirty. She helps him wash his pants because you can clearly tell that the noble man has servants that does it for him.

They have a moment.
In an underground wrestling arena, there is a match that happens. This underground arena is operated by that bad vampire.
LOL, I can totally tell who is under that mask.

While delivering some meat, Mari gets surrounded by a group of men.
The girl got game! She can totally beat the men up by herself.
Shi Hoo comes in like a gentleman to save Mari(even though she can handle herself).
Jae Min's father talks to Jae Min about setting up a marriage. Jae Min disagrees, wonder which special girl he is thinking of.
Jae Min and Shi Hoo is having a bromance. They both say they met their fated lady. They are talking about the same women. Oh why is there a love triangle again?!

I like Shi Hoo, I don't want him to die again.
