Cruel Romance ep 17 recap

 While RJX was sending off ZZ, she sees a little dog in front of the gates. Turns out ZZ is scared of dogs because of a trauma from when he was a little kid.

RJX laughs at ZZ for being scared of a dog. ZZ is known to be all mighty but he is afraid of a little dog. Do keep in mind that RJX doesn't know why ZZ is scared of the dog.

RJX decides to keep the dog and names it Little Horse Brother.

 SH found information about RJX. He tells ZZ that she is from Zhenjiang and that all her family died from a massive fire one night. She is the daughter of a famous doctor. There have been no clue why the whole family died.

Turns out the medicine that ZZ was bringing back for his master was from RJX's father.

 XYD takes SM for a walk. XYD says he is lying to her. SM says, "I heard that if you are lying to a person then you have feelings for them."

She is not giving up so he lies by saying he only has one month left to live. She explains that her mother had bad health and during her last moments her father wasn't there. She wants to be there for his last moments.

Since he tried being soft and it didn't work, he used the rough way and pushed her away.

She tells the girl to leave because he is not in the mood.

A guy comes on the order of CJR to bring XYD to CJR.

CJR says he signed the agreement but XYD didn't resolve the problem with SM.

XYD tells him that he faked an illness but she still wouldn't give up.

Poor SM, she hears what XYD says.

XYD says he is sorry. SM says this is like a dream, she couldn't believe such a handsome man will like her. She says it's time to wake up and forget this whole dream.


She wishes XYD to find his own happiness.

She tells her dad that she will not come back and will listen from now on.

CJR says he hurt SM and he will get back at XYD.

XYD says to himself, "Brother, it looks like I am really wrong."

RJX ask how he got in. ZZ got tired of waiting so he climbed in through the window.

ZZ: Next time lock him up (refering to the dog).

He gives her Grandma Cookies. She remembers the taste of the Grandma Cookies from Zhenjiang. These cookies that he got taste the same as the ones from her village.

She remembers all the memory from his past because of these cookies.

So sweet that ZZ is comforting RJX. Hopefully this will make RJX like ZZ more, by like I don't mean brotherly like.

The next day ZZ comes to get RJX to visit her old town. He already found someone to cover her shift at work.

ZZ: You need to face it head on, you can't avoid it forever.

She wants to go over to the grave by herself.

She says sorry for not visiting earlier, because she doesn't want to face the fact that they are died.

She has been living in Shanghai but hasn't found the murders yet. She feels so useless.

RJX has flashbacks about the Japanese evil men and her encounters with YMZ.

RJX says "after YMZ gets past all of her sorrows, she will become my sister again. I will bring her here someday."

ZZ is waiting patiently for RJX. It's like he's at a photo shoot because he pose so cooly.

They found this man at RJX's burned down house. This man tells her that Jiu Uncle says he saw men going into RJX's house on the day of the fire.

Note: Jiu uncle is not RJX's real uncle. It's just a title like a kid calling family friend uncle.

ZZ drags him out of the gambling room. RJX ask ZZ to release him and she will talk to him by herself.

She ask Jiu Uncle what happen on the day of the fire. He ask for $2000.

She ask to borrow $2000 from ZZ. ZZ says he knows how to deal with these kind of people.

Jiu Uncle tells ZZ what he saw. ZZ ask him to describe what the leader looks like. ZZ ask him to draw the leader out.

ZZ leaves the room for a moment and Jiu Uncle sneaks out the window.

RJX tells Jiu Uncle that they mean no harm. Jiu Uncle says no, he held a knife at my throat.

Jiu Uncle ends up falling down the cliff and RJX tries to save him.

ZZ tries to save RJX and they end up hanging.

ZZ: Don't move, use all your strength and climb up. Hurry and listen to me.

Once RJX gets up, ZZ falls. OMG! I thought this was the end for ZZ. Like who can survive a fall like that.

He didn't fall and ended up climbing back up.

RJX thought he was going to die. ZZ tells her that he doesn't die that easily.


RJX ask if Jiu Uncle said anything. ZZ lies to her and says nothing related to her family's death. ZZ urge her to stop investigating and live on for her family.

ZZ ask SH to find what kind of people went into Zhenjiang during the period when the fire happen.

SH ask if it was a good idea to lie to RJX.

ZZ said for a group of people to kill a whole family without not leave any clues are dangerous. Even if RJX finds out who they are, she can't take them down and will only endanger herself.

XYD ask for RJX to drink with him. He is having a crappy day. XYD says he is wrong, he always thought it was his brother that is wrong.

RJX was about to talk about her problems but XYD falls asleep. If he only listen then he can find out that she was the one that gave him the pocket watch.

Chen manager got someone to stole some financial report. She gives it to YMZ and says $50,000 was used but the report didn't say what it was used for. And the CEO personally signed the agreement to use $50,000.

There's a grand opening for a japanese store. The girl makes eye contact with a photographer. I guess they are against the japanese.

YMZ gives the financial report to MR and MR ask her to keep on investigating.

Suddenly, an explosion goes off.

MR scans the crowd and finds a suspicious looking man.

MR follows the man.

The man got knocked down by MR. MR was about to kill him but two other guys come in and save the man.

We have a scene that shows off MR's upper body. Thank you producers for adding this scene in.

Such an eye candy for us.

His muscles are really toned. Wonder if he works out everyday in real life.

RJX tells LL that she is arranging for an event.
